We're happy to announce that our friends over at BuddyTV will be providing us original content for the Entertainment section. BuddyTV provides fresh, original coverage on popular television shows and has built one of the largest and best online communities catering to fans of popular shows like Lost, 24, Survivor and many more. BuddyTV correspondents also get exclusive interviews with the people involved in producing these great shows, so that fans can dig deeper into the makings of their favorite series. We look forward to working together with BuddyTV and others in bringing more great content to Newsvine.

Moving in on my racket? Not cool! :p
Consider this an enhancement of the overall entertainment offerings by Newsvine, that also serves to increase the audience as a whole :)
It would be nice to get more eyes on the Entertainment section, certainly. I guess I'll have to step up my game. Kind of punts a dent in my brand new television group though. I was trying to fill it with some good content before inviting people to join, maybe I should just delete it now.
I don't see why. I'm not deleting my predecessor to your group, the TV Lounge, where, incidentally, I have crafted my contributions to primarily focus on interesting domestic and international content about television that goes beyond what mainstream TV writers and sites like BuddyTV tend to cover in the United States. There's room for everything, especially for those readers who are able to expend a little more effort to find what they want.
When I noticed the addition a few hours ago, I was initially a bit miffed about BuddyTV encroaching only on the territory of Newsviners who write about TV (there's no comparable premium content for the other members of the Big 5—movies, video games, music, and books). A quick visit to their site assured me, however, that there's not much to worry about as long as you stay current and give your posts an interesting and/or unique twist.
You've already got members, I should just join your group anyway.
I've just asked to join your group and you're invited to mine. Independent TV writers should stick together to keep the distinctive perspectives alive, especially now that we're the only ones in the Entertainment section with direct, mass, mainstream competition.
Well, if its any consolation, I very rarely (if ever) venture into the individual sections. (Yes, it's a mistake on my part.) I would also argue that you still have the upper hand as Newsviner's can write original material and their stuff is little more than an AP thread -- which can't show up in featured writers.
Does this mean that Newsvine will now have integrated video now?
Kind of like the integrated audio links?
Entertainment section: Everything that I love about Newsvine -- without the stupid bickering.
Great to see added content!
:)
Way to buddy-up guys. For those
hunting for the new content here's the first newsvine buddy T.V. post
Cool.....Now I can get the inside scoop right from Newsvine.
I thought something seemed odd when some of the articles I was reading on the wire were attributed to BuddyTV. Cool
Just a note.. the tag should probably be... "buddYtv"
; )
Would be nice to see, you know, a Real feature, like the groups and stuff, that was cool, i want it again.
Hey, we're all just rats on a treadmill here Paradox! :)
You can expect the regular slew of feature additions moving forward. Some are big, some are small, some are content-related, and some are technology related.
I like the collaboration here, but I think it is a tad annoying that many of the articles have a few paragraphs and then links to the rest of the article. Also, just a little suggestion, but email addresses as usernames seems very impersonal. I love how the A.P. does it, with the authors real name.
