The Newsvine Team would like to recognize the recent work of veteran 'Viner Dennis P. McCann, by awarding him the RAV. Putting forth a true Random Act of Vineness, Dennis recently published an article calling for tolerance among Newsvine users (and the public in general) toward Muslims. The Newsvine Team believes it is of the utmost importance to maintain a venue for collaboration and open discussion that is welcoming to people from all walks of life.
From time to time, the pendulum of public opinion in the Western world shifts in ways that result in unfounded assumptions about large groups of people - in the case of recent years, most would agree that members Islam have been unfairly subjected to this type of treatment, on a massive scale. Newsvine Community members such as Dennis do us all credit by reminding us that prejudgments are harmful not only to those who are targeted, but also to those making false assumptions.
Doing his part to combat bigotry and prejudice against Muslims, McCann created and hosts a Newsvine group, Islam Anti-Defamation League, with the stated purpose:
We, the members, will fight intolerance of the Muslim faith. We realize that the vast majority of Muslims are law-abiding, peaceful citizens, and are not to blame for the extremism that they neither support nor engage in, and that it is wrong to judge them by those actions.
Never before have we received so many nominations for a Newsvine member to receive a RAV in such a short time. Please join the Newsvine Team in recognizing Dennis P. McCann's contribution to the Newsvine Community.

What's killing me, though, is that we can't look at the live-blogging thread. I was thinking about it the other day, too.
I have that thread saved in my hard drive but there's no way to repost it, since all the reporting was done in the comment thread.
How do you have it saved?
If it isn't too unwieldy, could you email to it me? It's something I intend to mention in my college interviews in the next couple weeks, and it's something to add to my journalism portfolio.
If it's too much trouble, though, don't bother.

In Firefox, if you click File > Save As > Web Page, Complete, it saves the entire page. You get an HTMLl file and a folder containing all the graphics and such. Just make sure all that is in the same folder, click on the HTML file...and it's just like you're looking at Newsvine.
I'll compress it and send it to you. Shoot me an email from the address where you want it sent.
