Newsvine outage tonight

Tonight at 10PM PDT, Newsvine will be offline for about 20 minutes, followed by a few hours of "read-only" activity while we move our site to a new facility.

DNS should slowly propagate over the next few hours, and should be fully resolved by around 3AM. The old site will redirect to the new site for a week or so until everyone has the new DNS entries. You might notice some slight flakiness with the conversation tracker and/or watchlists for the first few hours of site activity.

The new facility provides us room to grow and integration with a top notch 24x7 monitoring team. It's also going to free up some of the Newsvine Team to focus more on the product and less on site monitoring and operations.

We thank everyone for their patience.

A full 20 minutes; I don't know if I can stand the tension. Promise us you'll be back - all shiny and new. Seriously, good luck with the switchover. The nerves will be jangling, though. I'm sure one third of an hour will be a small price to pay.

Is anyone else having trouble clipping articles to their columns? I've reported it as a bug, but was just wondering if it might be part of the migration hiccups.

Yeah, it seems to still work, it just takes FOREVER to actually show up on your column for some reason. Or at least, that's how it is for me these days and others have been saying the same thing...no promises ;)

You can find them if you go to your history file and look at articles that you clipped and they will show up there. Mine are taking about 3 days to show up on the column.

Glad it worked for you Elaine, the new location of the servers and some peoples browsers seem to work fine and others seem to take a while to catch up, I cannot think of anything else that is acting up at the moment except you might go over to the far right of the screen and click on "Newsvine Live" and make sure that is updating OK, if you are getting alot of the same thing (Same article) then usually...not always, clearing the cache of your browser will fix that one, if you need any help on that, let me know.

Mine looks nice and clean also. I heard the clipping comment over the weekend a couple times Josh, but the trackers were also acting up, so I am not sure if those two are related.
