The Newsvine Team is happy to award Physicist-retired a Random Act of Vineness for his recent analysis of the nuclear crisis in Japan. The situation in Japan is quite complicated and is difficult to understand at times. Physicist-retired has been doing an excellent job of providing up-to-date and accurate information to their readers.
Being a great Newsviner doesn’t only include writing and seeding articles. It also has to do with a user’s comments and moderation. Physicist-retired’s comments have been informative, intelligent, insightful, and truly a pleasure to read. Many of said comments answer other user’s questions and add a higher level of understanding of the situation in Japan.
Physicist-retired has also managed to steer the conversation in the right direction, offer valuable feedback to other users, engage the community, keep out personal bias and politics, and even encourage other users to post articles on related topics.
This has been noticed and appreciated not only by staff, but by fellow users. Several of whom sent us emails to nominate Physicist-retired for this award.
Please join the Newsvine team in congratulating Physicist-retired for their outstanding efforts.
Keep up the good work!

Reading through your comments, Physicist-retired, really helped me (and I am sure many others like me) have a better grasp on the situation in Japan.

He deserves it, Congrats PR!!!!
We got lots and lots of deserved props for that discussion. Not all of them were outright RAV nominations, some were just thanking Newsvine for the information.
I feel like that underscores that Newsvine isn't just a website, and it isn't just the nine of us in an office. It's a community that provides really unique content and a lot of that comes in the form of great discussion. I'm psyched we handed out a RAV for fostering that.
/florid pontification, back to banning violators
Thanks, Sheriff!
Newsvine is a community and we all contribute and we all glean confidence in expressing ourselves to one another. When someone deserves kudos and honors this is not ignored and makes the community more prosperous and enlightened. Personally, I have learned more from my fellow Newsvine members than from any other source as they provide a plethora of extended information that would take me days to research and read. Thanks Physicist Retired and the entire NV community you've given me the best material for continual conversations and I appreciate this immensely.
Congratulations Physicist-retired. Well earned praise.

I love coming to your articles, Physicist! Kudos to you for being so informative and congratulations on your RAV!
Salutations Physicist Retired! You so graciously dumbed down your reply to my intellectually bereft question that I actually felt like less of a dolt. You are the perfect example of proper Newsvine decorum. Thanks and congratulations.
Welcome to the wall. I look forward to reading your articles. I have seen your comments and agree they deserve special notice. I blame my tracker for not making me familiar with you sooner. Congratulations.
