Newsvine Support's a big improvement on our customer service solution. Actually, our 'customer service solution' before was mostly Newsviners teaching each other how Newsvine worked, and staff replying to emails individually. If you visit the site, you'll automatically create an account and be able to create private or public discussions with staff and fellow users.
It's pretty. Take a look around.
With Newsvine Support, we're going to maintain and update a thorough and helpful Knowledge Base - a FAQ, basically - and have lots of discussions about Newsvine.
We also hope that a lot of the meta discussions there can turn into features.
The site's currently called 'Newsvine Beta Support', and the available content reflects that: some of these articles won't make a lot of sense if you don't have access to the Beta. We're looking forward to removing the 'Beta' qualifier soon.

Writing on Newsvine Blog in these last stages of Beta are kind of a tightrope; I can't wait to just yank the curtain on all of these new things!

I get "Log in to Newsvine" where my avatar should be, and that doesn't let me log in.

I can't access Newsvine in IE - it does nothing and then I get a message saying Newsvine is not responding. Could this be a glitch with adding new Newsvine's compatibility ?
It happens. They're working in a "live" site. Regardless, sometimes they have to shut down and reboot for changes to take affect.

(Just to note, this is Tuesday, Feb. 5th at 3:35 p.m and I just now got a tracking of your comment. It's been happening a lot lately, sometimes two days later!)
Since this is the Trough, come Thursday, you won't be able to track it at all.
This showed in my tracker just now. Tender was set up as a private support and discussion site for Beta Testers in July and has been closed for a long time. The last time I went there, probably in October to ask a question, the page was gone. So much for support. The discussions in there were the same as you've seen taking place in the Trough as TPTB insisted on calling it. That's probably why it was shut down. IMO.
I am happy to see, TPTB paid attention and changed the derogatory term to Public Discussion this week when they realized how many people had left and still planned to leave.IMO
Mine got as far as the headline. I'm glad I didn't have to scroll through 1000+ comments to find it.

https://support.newsvine.com/ might be causing some people problems.
Seems they've taken up closing and deleting discussions there.
I'm thinking about writing an article covering the effects on traffic this change has. I'll probably put it on the Futile Exercise of a website I had to create in an attempt to satisfy AdSense.
This is February 10th and everyone is in Beta now, but I notice that this article is not Betafied. So I guess old articles remain in their original format.

Well, so far, I haven't seen ANY of it, just heard from others that have. At this point, I don't know if I will like it or not, taking a wait and see stand here. I would like to stay, but it depends.

Continue to comment on others' aritcles and seeds, post your own and it will happen. All of a sudden you will notice a stem and then a leaf, and then you are a full fledged viner!

EI I know you know how. I've been waiting for one of your wry humor articles. I'm only surprised you haven't done a comparison of the Canadian economices with the American one. :) I know one thing what you described as the form of taxes on the 'federal' level is really interesting. Still, I don't think we can get 50 states to agree to it. Too bad it wasn't set up like that back in the day..sigh.

I am Jonathan-1917156 (or some other similar number). I self deleted that id when I pretty much was going to go postal and get banned. I call it a self 'banning prevention mechanism'. So yeah, I am a rereg, but at the same time, not a rereg.
What will keep you from going postal this time? New meds?
Naw, when I get to that level again (took about a year last round), I will probably self delete for good, I have run out of throwaway email addy's. lol

hmmmm... well quite a few did, there is a style. If I ever did get banned, it would be hard for me to rereg, because I couldn't change my style.
Kind of hard to hide in the woodwork when you have no problem telling all "sides" exactly how screwed up they are. I find it to be quite refreshing, but it does make you stand out in a crowd, and therefore you'd be outed right away.
Well ALL sides are being @!$%#ing idiots, so it is pretty hard to restrain myself. From the side that has no concept of the demographic issues (the left) to the side that has no concept that unending military spending (well little bit of both but mostly the GOP) to the side that believes that government should have almost no role, (yup, because the countries that we need to compete with have no government involvement), they are ALL being idiotic. In a lot of ways, even the hard line environmentalists are also being clueless idiots.
There is far more than enough idiocy to spread around.
Hell I guess I can honestly say that I AM BEING AN IDIOT for believing that somehow people can figure out that they are being idiots. :P

I have been trying to get help for days now...one of the moderators WAS helping, but I have not heard from her in a few days...
ok, the problem is, THIS time...I am stuck on this page that asks me to delete ALL my old groups (I guess for...well, just because...for it does not say why)...I cannot access Newsvine, I cannot leave the page...hell, I have to damn near turn the computer off and on just to get the damned page off my monitor screen!!!
it says there is a 'do it later' button(actually it alludes to there being one..there AIN'T)...it is not there. neither is any possibility of leaving...NOTHING !!!
can someonehelp (I tried writing Sally this morning, but me being me, I lost her newsvine e-mail address !!!

I only wanted to do what I've done for lo these last SEVEN years, and that is write, comment, and talk to all the good friends I've made here in this wide, wonderful world of Vineland...but yall have made it damned near impossible.
I cannot get of this 'page' that asks me to do something, and when I've done it, it just sits there and wont let me progress to the Vine, and do the only thing I wanted top do in the first place.
i'm sorry, but I am an old crippled man who does not have a computer tech degree, and really do not care for pushing buttons and playing with these damned things...all I want to do it WRITE !!!
this is has been my salvation, my psychological therapy...it has been what i do for working through my depression...my disability...

ron, slow down, take a deep breath. Uhh, because I just got here.....
Ok copy & paste these instructions in your Notepad.
first on your top toolbar to the right ..one of the words is ''Safety''. Click on that. A drop down menu appears. Find the Delete Browsing History (which should be the first one) & click on it.
A popup will appear...make sure that all the little boxes are checked and down at the very bottom is a Delete button. Click it. This will delete browsing history.
Now, log out of NV. If you have Microsoft Windows....
Go to Microsoft Mr. Fixit.....http://support.microsoft.com/fixit/
In #3 section choose the first one. Follow the instructions.
Also, you need to defragment your computer at least once a month.
Also, make sure that your updates have been updated. :)
Now, back to the NV, we are going to 15 Nations. It means that there are no longer 100 groups for us to belong too.
When you get to the NV, go to HELP....a drop down menu appears, click on Knowledge....read the information about Nations etc.
email me if you have more issue's. I'll try to help if this doesn't clear it up
whatever I was supposed to do, other than delete the browser thing, didn't happen (MStanely, I am truly inept at tis thing called a computer...obviously)...

Sally Chamberlin suggested it was a bug...and recommended I send a 'screen-shot', like I knew how to do that...there IS a serious problem, and I am getting very depressed...sorry...

I saw Ron about to blow a gasket and thought that I would try to help. Like the blind leading the blind. lol
But there is strength in numbers, so I thought that I would step in. Ron is cool guy and I did not like seeing him lose his composure. :)
Doing good, the plumbers Finally got the plumbing fixed...that was a Mess...Ron's issue's were temporary. He had a New computer, Win8 and IE10 & NV switch....All at the Same time....Poor sweetie it was taxing his patience learning all of it.
